Supporting Emotional Wellbeing During Transition

At Crossley Heath we understand that significant changes in the lives of children can create emotional challenges that are new and, sometimes, difficult to manage.  Transition to secondary school is a significant change for children coming to us from their primary schools.  We are working with our specialist partners at Kooth, OpenMinds, Noah’s Ark and Invictus Wellbeing to provide the most effective emotional support for our students.  In this section you will find resource links to those specialist agencies and we encourage all parents/carers and students to access these to understand what support is available in addition to that offered by our Pastoral and Wellbeing Teams at school.  Whilst the majority of children and young people are able to cope with the ups and downs that significant change can bring, we are also ready to support our students when they begin to struggle.

If you have concerns about your child’s wellbeing as they make their transition to us, please add this information to the confidential ‘getting to know my child’ form or, get in touch with me directly by emailing d.spencer@crossleyheath.org.uk
